The guys at Cult Fim in Review get Cronenbergian, with their review of the 1979 film The Brood. In this episode, we talk about the many Cronenberg films we’ve seen in the past and discuss some of the common themes throughout his library. Later, we talk about what possessed Cronenberg to create this film and how it relates to his personal life. What is it about this film that has people calling it the director’s most autobiographical film? Also, we discuss the villains in this film, the kids! What makes them scary and what kind of real damage can they do with a preschooler’s play mallet? Finally, we try and pinpoint what eccentric Dr. Raglan’s endgame was? Did he know he transformed a woman’s uterus into a serial killer production line or was it all a mistake?

Uwe Boll is an untalented idiot, but he might have a point here. You cannot just use any title, when you make a movie. There are some rules established, how much time must pass between products with the same title in the same market etc. Paul Haggis could use “Crash(2004) for his film, in spite of Cronenberg”s “Crash(1996)being a well-known film, because there was enough time between them. This might not be the case here. Let the courts decide.
