It’s week two of Fan Pick February and Cult Film in Review is headed into dangerous territory with the infamous blood-drenched journey into the jungle, Cannibal Holocaust.
In this episode, the guys discuss why some of them were desperately trying to avoid this film but knew they couldn’t avoid the inevitable for long. Later, the crew picks which scene was the most disturbing. Was it the brutal, yet fake, human tortures or the very real animal mutilations? Also, the guys question how much is too much for the sake of art. Finally, this film was controversial back in the 80s but now that we’ve grown as a society, is it just plain offensive? Even with that question lingering, is it still a must watch for cult film aficionados? Especially considering the influence it’s had on the found footage genre.
