It’s another week of talking about “real” cult films on Cult Film in Review. This week, we’re talking about the Troma superhero classic, Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D. In this episode, Cody talks about where this film ranks on the Troma film scale of popularity. We’ll get to that. Troma is known for lampooning pop culture, but is the main character related to a National Lampoons character? No, but don’t worry, we’ll get to that. We also discuss a bit about American and Japanese pop culture; friends at opposite ends of the globe who have no problem stealing from one another. And finally, Sgt. Kabukiman is Troma’s biggest film to be sure, has this fact finally taken Mike’s stone cold heart and bathed it in the toxic greatness that is Troma- or is Mike still an avid detractor? We will absolutely get to that on this week’s episode!
